Dr. Lalit Ray

Dr Lalit Ray passed his MBBS from Calcutta Medical College with honours in Surgery. He did his house sugeonship in general surgery under doyens Prof M N Das and Dr Prof PK Chaudhuri. Later he did a postgraduate diploma in anaesthesiology. He joined Calcutta National Medical College in Dept of ENT and Head neck surgery in 2000 as MS post graduate trainee under Prof Arunabha Sengupta and Prof Ramanuj Sinha. He passed MS in 2003 with distinction and later posted as Resident Surgeon in the same dept where he performed many rare surgeries. His special interest developed in Head neck surgery for which he attended various workshops in India and abroad namely France and Singapore. He later worked in Nanavati hospital Mumbai under ENT doyen Dr KP Morwani where he mastered ear microsurgery. Being the son of the soil of Asansol he came back to his hometown Asansol as an ENT surgeon of the then SD hospital. He did many risky life saving operations which were published in various newspapers there and took premature retirement as Head of the Dept of ENT of Asansol District and Superspeciality hospital. He continues his research work and published various articles in various National and International journals. He is now practicing in Asansol and attached to Midwest Hospital and Medical Insititute, Sterling Hospital and HillView Hospital Asansol. He was also awarded the prestigious fellowship of International College of Surgeons of USA and awarded Membership of Indian Society of Thyroid Surgeons and Association of Otolaryngologists of India. He has been awarded Bengal Excellence award 2019 for advancement in medical science.He has also been awarded India's Best Doctor Award 2024 on National's Doctor's Day for Excellence in ENT. He had been invited to the International Conference on Vertigo as a speaker along with top 10 selected ENT and Neurologists of India to Europe, once in 2022 Turkey and 2023 in Belgrade, Serbia.
